The short shaft gear box is suitable for the SPM and Cornelius and many more machines.

Elco are known to be much better quality motor than the Kenta, Vernis or Packard gear motors. Very sturdy and more reliable.

Note: Only obvious difference is the Elco doesn't have an impeller(fan) on the motor. Fan only required for the CAB machines.
